Thirteen different engineering science programs, customised PhD programs, cutting-edge laboratories directed by internationally renowned professors, a modern, fast-developing campus, close ties to industry: EPFL offers an exceptional student experience to young people planning a higher education in science and technology.

The Centre for Biomedical Research (CIBM) (http://www.cibm.ch/) is involved in the INSPiRE-MED project and is particularly known as a world leader in development and implementation of high field MRI/MRS of the brain. This center is the result of a major research and teaching initiative of the partners in the Science-Vie-Société (SVS) project, namely the Université de Genève (UniGE), the Université de Lausanne (UNIL) and the EPFL, as well as the corresponding University Hospitals, the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) and les Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG).

EPFL has been actively involved in multiple FP7 projects: 515 accepted project in which 85 ERC grants, 33 Marie Curie ITN, 75 individual Marie Curie Fellowships, 1 Marie Curie COFUND and 14 Marie Curie IAPP/IRSES. METAFLUX (FP7-PEOPLE-2010-ITN-264780), FAST (FP6-MC-RTN-035801), EU BIOMED 1 Concerted Action (PL 920432, 1993–1996), COST Action B21.

And EPFL is currently involved in 146 accepted projects in Horizon 2020, amongst them in 33 ERC Grants, 27 Marie Sklodowska Curie ITN, 1 MSC COFUND and 19 MSC IF.
