Inselspital – Universitätsspital Bern

The institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology (DIN) is a clinical unit of the University Hospital Bern has 72 full time positions and performed 2017 a total of 19000 MR-examinations of which 700 contained a clinically indicated MR-spectroscopy examination as well. A subunit of the DIN is the Support Center for Advanced Neuroradiology (DIN/SCAN) which is dedicated to basic and clinical research in stroke, neurooncology and neurodegenerative diseases.

The DIN/SCAN was involved in two preceding EU-projects, namely FAST (FP6-MC-RTN- 035801), with invited “guest status”, and TRANSACT-ITN, and two Swiss national science foundation supported projects on MRS and neurooncology. The DIN/SCAN was and is currently involved in multiple SNF projects, and in particular in a SNF-funded project on brain tumor progression.

The DIN/SCAN is currently involved multiple peer reviewed international scientific projects in the field of neurooncology, stroke and neurodegenerative diseases.
