
UCBL, comprising scientific, technical and medical faculties, is the 4th university of France with 36000 students, 3000 employees. UCBL comprises 12 doctoral schools and 71 research units, involved in 80 European projects. In 2020, UCBL will be part of University of Lyon, regrouping 4 universities and 9 Engineering and Business Schools.
CREATIS is a biomedical imaging research laboratory of 200 persons (including more than 100 PhD students) composed of 5 research teams with objectives for the improvement of brain and heart diseases characterization and therapy follow-up, by the development of acquisition methods (MRI, CT, X Rays, US, Optics), signal and image processing, and modeling and numerical simulation.
UCBL has been involved in many international and European research and training projects. UCBL has coordinated the FP7 ITN projects NETFISIC and BONE-NET and hosted more than 15 FP7 Individual Marie Curie fellowships (BAGEL, PALLAS, BIOMUC, VOLURAD…). UCBL has been a partner of around 10 FP7 ITN and IRSES projects (MULTIMOD, BIOMIMEM, EUTRAIN, NANODEV…).
CREATIS has been involved in several R&T programmes: FAST (FP6-MC-RTN-2006-035801), ENVISION (FP7), THROMBUS (FP7-ICT-2009-269966). Dr. D. Sappey-Marinier has been involved in FAST and TRANSACT (PITN-GA-2012-316679).
